Coach Haku has coached for nearly 10 years at successful programs such as St. Francis High School (Back to Back State Championships in 2017 & 2018) & Kamehameha Schools. Coach Haku’s passion lies in developing leadership in Hawaii’s youth both on the court and in life. We are so lucky to have found a coach who shares our values and is extremely qualified in player development.

Age & ability appropriate skills sessions to help players develop a strong foundation in the game of Basketball. We believe in progressing gradually so that athletes have the opportunity to learn how to play in a developmentally appropriate environment. Sessions for kids in 1st-2nd grade will include an 8 ft. basket and junior size ball (27.5), while kids in 3rd-5th grade will use a 9 ft. basket with a 28.5 size ball. Kids in 6th-8th grade will use a 10 ft. basket and 29.5 size ball. It is possible for a younger athlete with advanced skills to participate in a higher grade level division if that is what makes the most sense developmentally.

Please Note: We believe in Long Term Athletic Development in all of our programs. Therefore, we prioritize general athletic development in the sport of basketball at the younger ages. This is a long-term approach to success that focuses on building a strong foundation while having fun. This will give an athlete the confidence to progress to more advanced levels of training as they mature and grow. If children are not taught proper fundamentals and movement mechanics at an early age it is much more challenging for them to have confidence to continue to play a sport through the teen years.

Our skills sessions will help kids gain overall athleticism, learn proper technique, and develop their basketball knowledge all while having fun!
